A Warm Day at the Nursing Home
In Fligreen’s sales department, there are a few of us who are really caring. We support each other at work and often take part in social activities. In China, with more elderly people, many of them live in nursing homes because their children work far away and can’t take care of them. We decided to visit a nursing home to show our love and care for the elderly.
Early on Saturday morning, we gathered at the company entrance with gifts and ingredients. We were excited and eager to bring some warmth and joy to the elderly.
When we arrived at the nursing home, the director welcomed us warmly and gave us a tour. The elderly smiled at us, and we felt right at home. We started by chatting with them, listening to their stories, and learning about their lives. Each of them had rich life experiences, and their stories were touching.
After chatting, we decided to make dumplings for the elderly. Dumplings are a traditional Chinese food that means reunion and happiness. We divided the tasks: some of us mixed the dough, some prepared the filling, some rolled the dough, and others wrapped the dumplings. The elderly joined us, teaching us how to make dumplings and sharing funny stories from their past New Year celebrations.
Soon, the dumplings were ready. We served them to the elderly in the dining room. Seeing them enjoy the dumplings made us feel incredibly happy. They praised our dumplings, and we felt rewarded for our hard work.
During this visit, we brought joy to the elderly and learned a lot ourselves. Caring for the elderly is our responsibility. Even though we did small things, these small acts made a big difference in their lives.
When we left, the elderly walked us to the door, their eyes full of gratitude and reluctance. We promised to visit them often so they wouldn’t feel lonely.
This visit to the nursing home not only showed us the power of caring but also strengthened our team spirit. We realized that caring for the elderly and giving them more companionship and love is a responsibility we all share. We hope our actions can inspire more people to pay attention to the aging population and make every elderly person feel the warmth of society.
